I would say, it has been love at first sight; i downloaded, tried and suddenly love them: i am talking of the 3 app for event planners and designers that i personally consider a must-have!

Smartphones and tablets have changed a lot of professions, including ours. Websites and app are becoming indispensable for event planners, though there is somebody – like me – who is still desperately in love with the old paper planner.

However it is true that the majority of the event planners and designers uses events app along their projects.

And now, let me introduce these great tools!

3 must-have app for event planners and designers: Trello.

Online; app available for Ios and Android.

Free version; Gold, Business and Enterprise.

We met almost 2 years ago and it has been love at first sight!

The main concept of what i usually call “my digital friend“, is the organization of the work in activities that makes Trello the top tool for project management!

Imagine a cloud environment work, where the workspace can be divided into several boards, for different activities. The user can create lists for every each board, and fill them with cards.

Thanks to this easy architecture, the user can assign a group of work to a specific board, without involving that specific group in other activities.

For example:

we have to plan a complex event, with the cooperation of a production group and a technical one (light, sounds, etc).

Trello’s workspace, divided in boards and activities, would allow the production group to see only its board without interfering or conflicting with the technical group, that instead, will see only its own board.

Moreover, the project manager, usually the one assigning boards and activities, will supervise the entire workspace.

In a certain way, Trello might work as a big digital agenda. We can insert stickers, use the calendar, we can change the background and using labels…

On top of that it is possible to optimize the work experience using the power-up function.

All seated: when the event designing becomes interactive

Wedding, parties, dinners, meeting…

All Seated is the system that makes the event planning/designing interactive!

Through All seated, in fact, we can choose and select a default venue or drawing ours just by inserting the measures. The beautiful thing is that, by picking the default venue, we can directly interact and communicate with its staff!

But this tool is more…A lot more…

We can design the seat-en-place and the mise-en-place; choosing tablecloth, fabrics and colors. And again, we can pick dinnerware, chandeliers, different chairs and furniture…

Mise-en place – 3D

All Seated has everything an event designer could desire for his project!

But i haven’t finished yet!

It is possible to create shared lists for vendors and guests and establishing timelines; of course, as in Trello, vendors and co-workers have access to the project.

List, Report and Details

Long story short, another great tool that allow us to organize better our work and sharing it with co-workers, with no waste of time.

The software design is clear and the program is easy to use, thanks also to dozens of tutorials available online.

Least but not last: the user can work in 2D and then see the simulation in 3D, absolutely rich of details and stunning!

Refresh

How many times have you been in front of a person that somebody else had introduced you before pretending to know or remembering him?

Don’t worry! It something that happens to me very very often! 😀

But, fortunately, somebody has thought about it and decided to help us. How? With Refresh, the app that provides all the information about a person that we are going to meet or have already met.

it’s like having somebody whispering in your ear who that person is, if you have met her before, if you have mutual friends and common interests…Exactly like Andy and Miranda in the Devils wears Prada! 😀

So, these are my 3 must-have apps for event planners but there are still a ton of famous apps that I invite you to watch, if interested – Eventbrite, Bizzaboo, Evernote – just to name some.

The market of the app for events is constantly growing, providing us new fascinating product to see and discover BUT – and i will sound a little old now – don’t forget that our job is not only tech and app!

Technology can help us a lot, but it would not be so helpful without our logistic or organizational skills; neither without our creativity! These skills come directly from our heart, from our brain and from our experience… It’s the passion that we transformed into a job!

Creativity is contagious! Pass it on! A. Einstein
